and i explained that the dog went to live on a ranch, and is much happier...blah blah blah. There were no tears. Brady just said "so you just gave our dog away?" and I said "yes." and he said, "well, you owe me.....you owe me some plain yogurt with sugar.". Deal.

I can't imagine they'd be terribly distraught, if it took them two days to even notice.
When you're a Mom of young kids, the last thing you want is something else hanging on you. I'm sure you feel a tinge of guilt but it's nothing compared to the relief of not having to deal with a high-maintenance dog. Of course, this is said by the lady with 3 cats but cats are far lower maintenance than dogs.
You know, when you said "ranch" I thought you meant that "ranch in the sky" kind of thing. Like when you tell your kids that the dog went to live on a "farm." You get my use of quotations here? I should have read further down :) I'm glad you did what you had to do to feel better! And I still am super excited for another Wirig running around. Hope you feel better!
I wish I could make that same deal with my kids...
ya yogurt and sugar are way easier than a dog. good deal brady.
Well that was easy! I am so glad it wasn't as bad as you anticipated.
Sounds like a great trade to me!
