Stinky Gum Drop

Carson likes to tell stories.  His favorite story to tell is about a character called "Stinky Gum Drop".  Most story telling takes place when it's bed time, lights are out, and i've threatened the boys a few times to keep it down and be quiet.  Stinky Gum Drop stories always result in extreme laughter and a often a wrestling match between Carson and Brady....

Lately Carson and Brady have been putting pen to paper (or fingers to key board, as Carson dictates and Brady types) to make sure they immortalize Stinky Gum Drop forever, so as to not forget a single one of his crazy antics.  I hesitate to share any of Stinky Gum Drop's adventures, as there is a lot of potty humor involved....I don't ENCOURAGE it...but i haven't totally DISCOURAGED it either.  I figure they are probably doing more good than bad (spending good brother time together, being creative, writing, typing, illustrating...these are all worth a few "poop" words, right?).  Anyway....today i opened up the document saved on our desktop titled "Stinky Gum Drop" to see what they have been working on.  It made me laugh a little bit.  I'll share some excerpts (exactly as typed)...this one is from chapter 2, "Stinky Gum Drop's Birth":

When Stinky Gum Drop had his birth.

He was shaped like a rectanglar  prism.

Everybody was so terafide.One person

Said ‘’he is so stinky ‘’I think I should     

get  a bowl to puke in and everybody

ran off with a bowl to puke in.

This next section is taken from chapter 1 (called "the panicking").  I picked it because it was the only part of chapter one that didn't reference "poop" very much.  It's a little disjointed, but i'm sure they'll clean it up in the editing process:

Soon down in the sewer people were panicking when they were fixing it.  Their tools fell in the water.  And hit an otter.  the otter was also panicking.  Soon when Stinky Gum Drop was 555 he went to sleep and when the people were panicking everybody was sleep panicking instead of normal panicking.  Then very close by there was a war.  But the people at the war was panicking also.  And millions of years later when Stinky Gum Drop was one million years old He bought 2000 canes.  He had to use all of them when he was doing all of that stuff.  And Kung Fu….he had to have his canes with him still.  And Stinky Gum Drop burped!  And everybody was panicking a lot faster.  One person that was just 5 years old screamed very very very very very very very loud.  Everybody panicked close to him.  Then Stinky Gum Drop said “I don’t know why they are panicking close to him.  I don’t get it.  He’s screaming so loud…why are they panicking close to him?”

Anyway, i'm excited to see what happens to Stinky Gum Drop.  Actually, i'm just excited that my boys compromise and collaborate when writing the story and are not punching each other.
